The national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, is on his way back to Nigeria from the UK.
You will recall that the APC national chairman travelled out of the country after he was quizzed by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) over allegations of collecting bribe during his party’s primary elections.
Media reports alleged that the former Edo state governor was detained for nine hours by the DSS on Sunday, November 4, 2018 before leaving for the US.
According to TheCable report, his wife, Lara is said to be indisposed and receiving treatment in the US.
The report says that Oshiomhole arrived London from the US on Thursday, November 8, 2018 where he met with Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, a national leader of the APC.
He was said to have departed London for Lagos by British Airways on Friday morning, November 9, 2018
The report noted that he was originally scheduled to return to Nigeria on Sunday, November 11, 2018 but had to cut his trip short because of the speculation on his ordeal with the DSS, and also to shut down reports that he fled the country over the issue.
Oshiomhole is at loggerheads with some APC governors over the manner in which the party’s primaries played out.
The obviously aggrieved governors, include: Rochas Okorocha of Imo and Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun, whose candidates failed to get the gubernatorial tickets of the APC in their states.
