The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby on Saturday, October 13, 2018 held separate meetings with President Muhammadu Buhari and the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar in Abuja.
Archbishop Welby met with the PDP flagbearer in the presence of Uche Secondus, national chairman of the PDP, Gbenga Daniel, director-general of Atiku’s campaign, and Paul Arkwright, British high commissioner to Nigeria.
The Archbishop was a keynote speaker at a conference themed ‘Religious Harmony in Nigeria: Towards the 2019 General Election’. The conference was attended by religious and traditional leaders.
President Buhari who is the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate also spoke at the conference and hosted Archbishop Welby to a dinner at the presidential Villa.
