BUHARI RECIEVES 2018 BUDGET- ENANG
The national assembly has finally transmitted the harmonised 2018 budget to President Muhammadu Buhari for assent.
Senator Ita Enang, senior special assistant to the president on national assembly matters (senate), disclosed this to state house correspondents on Friday night. Senator Enang said to reporters:
“I have received the budget on behalf of the Presidency. I am transmitting it now”.
“I can confirm to you that the budget has left the national assembly”.
When asked about the destination of the document, he said: “When the budget leaves the national assembly, it goes to the president. The president has received the budget”.
Senate President Bukola Saraki had said on Thursday, May 24, 2018 when he led the national assembly to the presidential villa, that the president would get the budget on Friday.
President Buhari submitted the budget in November, 2017 but the lawmakers passed it two weeks ago.
The total budget was raised from 8.6 trillion naira to 9.1 trillion naira.
