Nigeria’s D’Tigers defeated Central African Republic (CAR) 114:69 on Saturday, September 15, 2018 to qualify for the 2019 FIBA World Cup in China.

The team coached by Alex Nwora’s team were unbeaten 8:0 in the qualifying series leading to booking a place in the World Cup.

D’Tigers victory over CAR is the team’s 11th consecutive win.

The Nigeria team dominated play from start to finish winning all four quarters; 25:20, 26:19, 37:21 and 26:9.

This makes D’Tigers the first African team to qualify for the World Cup.

The team will return to the World Cup for the first time since 2006, having missed out of the 2010 and 2014 editions.

They will face Senegal in their final qualifying game on Sunday, September 16, 2018.
