The national chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, has said that former President Olusegun Obasanjo is at risk of God’s punishment for supporting former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s presidential ambition.
You will recall that the former president had said before backing the candidacy of Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Obasanjo had said Atiku would never get his support for a political office.
According to him, he stated that God will never forgive him if he backs Atiku’s bid for the presidency.
Speaking on the turnaround, the APC national chairman said God will go to work in February 2019 and “punish him thoroughly”.
The former Edo state governor made the comment on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 while addressing APC women leaders in his office in Abuja. He said that:
“The two candidates are from the north and they are both Muslims. People are now going to look at character. Nobody has ever said Buhari is a thief. But who said the other person is a thief? It was his boss.
“When you are working with me and I said you are a thief, God will punish me if I support you. And when you are confused because your supply line has been chopped off, you now turned around to support the same person.
“That God that you called with your name to punish you if you support the person is about to go to work. And he will go to work in February and he will punish him thoroughly and the person he is supporting, in favour of Nigeria”.
Oshiomhole stated that Nigerians will reelect President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019 despite the “conspiracy” against him.
“We know there are people across the divide who are fighting back. There is a conspiracy by those who are used to sucking the system without adding any value, but Nigerians will not allow that”.
