Nollywood actress, Monalisa Chinda has said that fans often forget that celebrities are humans and are judged harshly.
Speaking with GlamSquad magazine, Chinda said that her favourite parts of celebrity life is getting preferential treatment and making people smile. She said that:
“Celebrities are human. We are allowed to make one or two mistakes; I would wish the public will judge us less.
“That you are sometimes given preferential treatment at certain places, like the bank, the restaurants, at airports, social gatherings, being able to put zillion of smiles on people’s faces etc”.
Asked what part of celebrity life she found challenging, she said that:
“The fact that every word you utter in the public domain, you will be held accountable.
“That you cannot act or behave ‘anyhow’ in the public domain, you must be in control of yourself and your emotions. Whilst it’s ok to be yourself, be conscious of yourself and what you ‘put’ out there”.
Asked about what role she would like to play in a movie, she said she would like to play the role of a 70 or 90-year old.
“I would like to see myself interpret such a complex role. I wonder when that day would come.
“I would like to branch off to read international relations. I love the idea of becoming a diplomat. I am looking forward to going back to school just for that though. That is one dream I intend to fulfil”.
